Community Engagement Officer/Volunteer Coordinator

Part-time, 21 hours per week

Salary: £25,463 (SCP 28)

As part of our conflict resolution service, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated and confident person with enthusiasm and energy to join our hardworking team.

This is a primary role to lead our community engagement activities based on an asset based community development model (ABCD) across the city and coordinate our volunteers.

This will include establishing strong and robust relationships with a diverse range of communities and stakeholders across the city with a strong focus on hard to reach groups and help us to establish a network of individuals who you will help develop as restorative champions. The successful candidate will identify and coordinate a tailored package of community based workshops based on identified need to enable citizens to feel empowered, have skills and knowledge to resolve potential conflict and help create stable positive community environments.

The post holder will have experience of community engagement activities and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to ensure that we continue to develop and provide a professional and quality service.

Restorative Approaches Avon & Somerset

Senior Caseworker (Fixed Term initially to 31st March 2019)

Part-time, 28 hours per week

Salary: £21,074 NJC Pt 22 (pro rata)

We are looking to recruit a Senior Caseworker to be part of our Restorative Justice service, RAAS. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, training and supporting our casework team and overseeing our casework systems to ensure that outputs and outcomes are met as part of our funding and in line with the needs of our service. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with enthusiasm and energy with excellent interpersonal skills and resilience, have experience and be a trained Restorative Justice practitioner, and a commitment to promoting this approach.

High levels of organisational and inter-personal skills are essential as well as skilled in IT and administrative processes. The successful post holder will be able to work on their own initiative, as well as being part of a team and have excellent listening skills, putting volunteers, staff and services users at ease and deal with high levels of emotion whilst remaining calm, focussed and non-judgmental.

Excellent time management, working under pressure and to deadlines is an essential part of this role whilst being able to reflect the professionalism of our service over the telephone.

Trustees – We are always looking for people to join us as Trustees, to steer the organisation and help ensure we fulfil our legal and financial responsibilities. If you have experience and skills, particularly in the field of community engagement, fundraising, human resources, bid writing, organisational development , of course, an interest in conflict resolution and restorative justice  please contact our Director, Julie Cox for further information.
